Three people were hurt in a parking lot outside Six Flags Great America in Gurnee when shots were fired from a vehicle, according to a spokesperson for the park, which is located about 45 miles north of .
The vehicle immediately drove away.
No other details were provided, though a police source told <a style="font-weight: bold;" class="class" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" website the injuries were non-life threatening.
Two of the people injured were taken to a hospital for evaluation and one refused treatment, according to the spokesperson.
Laurie Walker, who was there with her daughter Grace when shots rang out, said they were waiting in line for a ride when people started running.

Walker said she heard someone shout: ‘There is an active shooter, get down, get down,’ she said<a style="font-weight: bold;" class="class" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" website 'We didn't know what was going on, so we get down.'
Walker and her daughter climbed two fences to get where she could call her husband.
She said they was able to leave the park a short while later.
Charlie Donda and his friends ran from the danger, telling <a style="font-weight: bold;" class="class" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" website Chicago: ‘I thought there were fireworks right away.
Then we saw hundreds of people running. It was pretty scary but we are safe.’
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
Gurnee is in Lake County, about 20 miles north of Highland Park, where seven people died in a mass shooting during a July Fourth parade earlier this year.
