Cracking The Marching Band Code

Band trailer sponsorships – the trailer was purchased almost 5 years ago thanks to generous donations by our sponsors. If you paid for those regular expenses using a gift card purchased from the HHS Band Scrip Program, you would get a rebate on each purchase, a rebate that goes straight into your student’s CHARMS fundraising account. The rescheduled Band Booster Meeting is Thursday, October 11th at 6:30pm in the HHS Band Room. We are selling Howell crates for $30 each ($15 of which will go directly to the HHS band student who sold it to you.) If you do not request a band member, the money will go back to the Band Boosters to help support things like repairing equipment, our band trailer needs, and buying new vests or jackets for the band. Those sponsorships will expire this year and we are looking for potential sponsors and/or someone to help solicit business or individual sponsorships. Auditions will be held at the Howell High School band room on Wednesday, Drum Corps Videos January 8th from 4 to 6:30 p.m. YOU KNOW I WILL TALK TO ANYBODY. Marching Band Blueprint – Rinse And Repeat

Annual Marching Band Organizational Meeting: Wednesday, April 25th at 7 PM (auditorium) ( This is a yearly MANDATORY meeting for Drum Corps Videos ALL students and at least one of their parents who will participating in next season’s marching band). As usual, we welcome any and all parents who have youngsters in choir or band from grade 6-12 to join us! The Rocket Marching Band invites high school marching bands to join them in the Glass Bowl for Band Day 2021, Saturday, September 18, when the Rockets will play host to Colorado State. Centerburg Music and Drum Corps Videos Arts Festival Please join us this Sunday, May 6th at 6:00pm in the High School Gym! As is communicated in the letter, the fee includes transportation, a music t-shirt and entrance into the festival AND King’s Island Amusement Park. Band Handbook Correction: The Music Booster Meetings have been changed for this year to the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Jazz band Schedule: (Practices are mandatory) – jazz band is a graded and credited course Tuesday 7:30 8:00 AM. We need it for football field use for the pit (front ensemble) synthesizer, sound system and bass amp at half time performances, practices and festivals / competitions. Five Tips From A Drum Corps International Pro

As Dan Gosling puts it in his article with this very topic: “Whereas a marching band will include flutes, clarinets and saxophones, a drum and bugle corps utilizes only brass and percussion and color guard (no woodwind instruments) and they are not affiliated with a school or college.” Basically, Drum Corps use less instruments than most marching bands, and are an independent organization unlike school marching bands. The perfect 5 Examples Of Marching Band

The Dog Walker had a Marching Band competition about an hour away and we had to have him there by 4:30. He joined his group about ten minutes before they took the field to perform.
