Since they use text-based advertising that is integrated into web pages, it makes sense that they would want to limit pop up ad competition. So, they make it quite easy to block pop ups with their web browser.

Click on the menu button at the top right-hand side of your browser (it’s the box with the three horizontal lines).

Highlight the Tools option which will open an extended menu to the right.

Click on the Extensions option.

Click the recycle bin next to every extension you did not install on purpose (if you don’t remember installing it, trash it).

There are two ways to disable pop up ads in Firefox. The first one (which is the easiest) is to use the Firefox browser add on.

Open your Firefox browser and click on the orange drop-down menu in the upper left corner.

Check the box for Block pop-up windows. You can also add exceptions by clicking the “exception” buttons.

Click “Ok” to finish the process.
Firefox is my go-to CM Browser Alternative because it seems to work with almost every web service I use. Google Chrome tends to lag on Microsoft sites and Internet Explorer crashes at the most inopportune times.

Stopping pop ups on the iPad is super simple. In fact, Apple takes the cake when it comes to ease of use here.

Open the iPad Settings menu by tapping on the “Settings” icon.

Choose “Safari” from the menu on the left side of the screen.
